Too much QE to blog

A brief update on why I have not posted any updates for so long.

The Central Banks of the world have printed so much fiat money in the last few years. Globally is it in excess of the equivalent of 8 or 10 Trillion US dollars? More, perhaps? Is any serious or even casual observer of economic history keeping count of the increase in money supply any more? We have left Alice in Wonderland long ago. We're way past A Brave New World. For myself I have not been able to sense and foresee any rhyme or reason in global markets in chart patterns that have seemed to recur for some reason for the past two or three hundred years.

This cannot go on. Or can it? I am the falcon in Yeats' The Second Coming who cannot hear the falconer. I do not think I am alone in failing to hear.

Opening lines only:
William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)
       THE SECOND COMING

    Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

And the last two lines:
    And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
    Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

I think, regrettably, the answer here is "greed", insane greed.
